Mumbai Police Urge Citizens Not To Move Beyond 2 KM From Home; Outdoor Movement Allowed For Essential Services



New Delhi: Movement of individuals to go to markets, salons, and barber outlets shouldn’t be past a radius of two kilometres from their homes, the Mumbai Police stated on Sunday,  in a bid to curb the unfold of coronavirus.

Movement past two km is permitted just for attending workplace or medical emergencies, a senior police official stated, including that motion outdoors this radius for buying is strictly prohibited.

The Mumbai Police appealed to residents to observe the non-public security and social distancing norms, else they are going to take strict motion in opposition to offenders.

“While many activities have been permitted under the Mission Begin Again guidelines issued by state government making the movement of people easier, the threat of COVID-19 still persists in the city… However, many people in the city have been found violating these norms, thereby endangering their own health as well as that of others in their vicinity,” the Mumbai Police stated in an announcement.

“Visit to markets, salons, barber shops etc. shall be restricted to those within a radius of 2 km from residence only. Movement outside this radius for shopping is strictly prohibited. Similarly, outdoor movement for the purpose of exercise is strictly restricted to open spaces within a radius of 2 km from the place of residence,” it added.
