Railways ready to run special trains for migrants from any district: Piyush Goyal | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Union minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday stated the Railways is able to run ‘Shramik Special’ trains from any district within the nation, and requested district collectors to arrange a listing of migrant employees stranded of their areas because of the coronavirus lockdown.
The district collectors should coordinate with state nodal officers in addition to nodal officers designated by the Railways, he stated.
“To provide relief to migrant labour, Indian Railways is ready to run “Shramik Special” trains from any District in the Country. District Collectors should prepare lists of stranded labour & destination and apply to Railways through the State nodal officer,” the railway minister tweeted.

“Along with this, the District Collectors should give a list and destination to the State Nodal Officer of Railways,” he stated.
Over the previous couple of days, Goyal has been interesting to state governments to approve extra trains to ferry migrants to their house states.
The attraction has gone out specifically to states like Jharkhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
